Hello Fellow Stitchers,
I hope this newsletter finds you all doing well and counting the days until Spring is here.
This newsletter is late getting to you all, and I'm sorry about that, but we do have some news!
First, the contest we had on Facebook resulted in a lot of interest. The winner was Gayle S from Australia, who hopefully has her "win" by now. We will be having future contests, so keep checking for our newsletters, checking our blog, and checking us out on Facebook for updates.
Are you someone who has loved using Paternayan Persian Wool? We had loved it for many years. It is a wonderful wool, which can be used for Silk Screened Needlepoint canvases, Hand Painted Needlepoint Canvases and cross stitch designs. We still have every color in stock, but alas, we've been unable to get in any new stock, as the distributor is being told by the company reps that they just don't know when all back ordered items will be available. It seems this rep is telling our distributor that Paternayan will not produce the colors until large orders for have been received. How can we work this way? Not easily for sure! Customers have called me with rumors that Paternayan is no longer being produced. Numerous calls and emails to the company has produced nothing. Not a return phone call, not a return email! In order to have this type of fiber available, we've been on a quest to find a replacement. Some of our customers are the best source, and I want to thank Barbara W for her suggestions. We have found three replacements, and received color cards from the companies. The colors are beautiful and we will have to decide which of the three we want to work with. One is Waverly Tapestry wool, produced in the USA the other two are Appleton Crewel Wool, and Appleton Tapestry wool, produced in England. Stay tuned to find out which we are going to carry. Also, if you use any of these wools, we'd love to hear from you as to which you prefer. It could help us with our decision.
Our other great news is that we have finally listed the brand new Needlepoint Canvases from LUC Creations. What you'd expect from LUC Creations!
One of my favorites, one I'll just have to stitch is called: La Fee des Bois. It's one of the nicest designs of a fairy I've seen.
Here is a picture of the design:
Do you like cats & kittens? LUC has two new designs:
The Napping Kittens:
Precious White Kittens:

These are just a few of the beautiful new designs. We don't have them in stock yet, they are on order. They should be here in about three weeks. Why not order yours now. Be the first to own one of the brand new designs.
We have started listing Counted Cross Stitch patterns from Lavender & Lace. You can view them at: http://www.needleartmania.com/xcart/LAVENDER-and-LACE-PATTERNS/ We still have a lot more to put on the website so keep checking back as we add more as time allows.
We want to thank so many of you who have called or emailed regarding Jim's health. He has MDS. Have any of you heard of this? His bone marrow no longer produces Red Blood cells. It's very serious. For now we have opted not to put Jim through the only Chemo available, which only works on 1 out of 3 who receive it. This form of Chemo makes the patient extremely ill, in addition to the MDS itself. With those odds, we are going with blood tests for low red Blood cells, followed up with blood transfusions when needed. There is no cure for MDS, no remission, so we are taking a day by day approach, and praying. All prayers are appreciated!
Don't want to send this off with a gloom and doom ending......so, don't forget the 15% discount we're still offering on purchases of 20.00 or more, and our guarantee of the lowest prices. If you see an item some where else, from a ligitimate site for less, we'll match that price!
I don't know about you, but my stitching has been one of the things that keeps me going. I have carried my needlepoint to more waiting rooms and hospitals in the last six months then I care to think about. People always ask me what I'm stitching, and I always show them. It's the young'ums....."what's that? What's needlepoint? What's counted cross stitch?" Don't you just love those comments? Let's get out there and teach today's young'ums about an art form that's been around for centuries. Something that makes you put in the back of your mind some of the things you have to deal with. Something that takes you away, that relaxes, that thrills and makes you feel like you've accomplished something great....and when you finish that piece, you have!
Keep on stitching!
Yours in stitching,
Jackie & Jim
