WISHING YOU ALL A HAPPY, HEALTHY HOLIDAY SEASON!
Dear Fellow Stitchers,
As I sit here typing on a very gloomy late fall afternoon, with winter officially only a couple of days away, I'm thinking that here we are again, another holiday season, another year drawing to an end and trying to put together thoughts that you might be interested in reading during the busiest time of the year.
So here goes: In our last newsletter we told you about the new designs from LUC Creations. Well, they are all here, in stock and on the website. Thank you very much to those of you who ordered and waited patiently for the arrival of some of the new designs. It's not usually the way we do things. We like to list what we have here, and now we have almost everything in stock, except for several new designs from SEG. I've finished a couple of needlepoint canvases, and will take pictures of them to put in a newsletter, and also on our blog.
For those of you who have been so kind to ask about Jim, please keep him in your prayers. He has been diagnosed with Primary Multiple Sclerosis and there's nothing that can be done. He will have a spinal tap on Jan, 4th. Regarding his blood disorder, he's had 27 vials of blood drawn, received two pints of blood, had a bone marrow biopsy, and the doctors are still not sure what's wrong, other than to tell us that it's a bone marrow issue. We hope to finally find out what the bone marrow issue is on Jan 5th, so we sit, wait, work, try to keep busy, and hope for the best.
I've done a lot of needlepoint waiting in doctor's offices and hospitals in the last couple of months, and I find, as always, my needlework is my salvation, it makes me calm, and gives me so much satisfaction and joy, and I hope your needlework does the same for you!

And now here it is the beginning of October and I still don't have them all listed. Alas, family wise, we continue to endure: Jim has had tests to try to find out why he has such bad anemia, so far, so good, but we don't know the cause, so now it's more tests.
Camille's husband has been hospitalized with pneumonia, and a "shadow" has been discovered on his lung, my brother in law will have a pacemaker installed next month and will recoperate at our house, and me? I take one day at a time.....
I will tell you this, no matter how tired I seem to be at the end of the day, my stitching project comes out, even if it's only for 10 minutes. I find it totally relaxes me. Ah, is there anything better than picking up an enjoyable needlework project?

What have I been doing and where have I been?
Well, I've been working on bringing in new companies and new designs and that's the reason this newsletter is so late in getting off to you all. I wanted to write with the exciting news!
We have hooked up with a company called Riolis Ltd. They produced beautiful counted cross stitch kits. Their designs are lovely and they kit using very fine Italian wool. NEW COMPANIES MEANS LOTS OF NEW DESIGNS

Here we go again, or should I say, some things haven't changed, and by that I mean the weather!
One day warm, four days of high winds, overcast skies and cool temperatures. It's almost summer isn't it, or am I wrong in my thinking?
We have hooked up with three new companies! We are very happy about that. Each company manufactures needlepoint canvas designs and counted cross stitch kits.
As soon as we receive our orders, we'll start listing and send off another newsletter to keep you all informed. Hope that this newsletter finds you all enjoying the warmth of a sunny, warm spring day, bursting with the bloom and fragrance of Lilacs, Hyacinth, and Tulips. NEW LUC CREATIONS DESIGNS!
Hello Fellow Stitchers,
I've been waiting....and finally they have arrived. 36 Brand new designs from LUC Creations, and they are beautiful! We have started listing them, so come back often to see them!
We have also listed new kits from MCG Textiles. They have latch hook kits, which we have on the site, but the great news is that they now have Traditional Rug Hooking kits available. We have several of them on the website. If you enjoy Traditional Rug Hooking, or would like to learn a new craft, this is a great way to begin. I have been a hooker for years, design my own, dye the wool, cut the wool and hook away.
We also are starting to list kits from Quilt Magic. These are kits with the fabric pre-cut. The design is laser cut into a foamboard. All you have to do is tuck the pieces of fabric into the foamboard and you will have a beautiful finished piece. The tool used is not included in the kit, but sold separately. We do have the tool in stock. Check back often as we list the kits on the website in the Quilt section.
I'm stitching to needlepoint designs right now. One from JaLew and one from Collection D'art. Curious to know which ones??? It's difficult to decide which one to work on at night!
I've received many questions about the thumbless knitted mitten that I created for one of my baby granddaughters. It was a big hit!

Thanks to those of you who took the time to respond to my comments about half cross stitching on Penelope canvas. Many of you agreed with my opinion. Some like doing backgrounds in Basket weave, but doing basket weave, you have to be very careful that you pick up in the direction that you left off, otherwise you'll have a ridge (been there)
JaLew is doing a lot of custom work and has produced a beautiful needlepoint design of old fashioned Nasturtium. It's on the website. I'm going to stitch one for our home.
Jim is doing all right, one day at a time.Busy with excel!
To those of you who have called and I've talked about my lovely daughter,
she married for the first time on December 2, 2010, and discovered yet again a lump on her knee bone. It's cancer. This will be the third time they'll remove a lump, so we don't know what the future will hold regarding treatments. The surgery has been postponed three times because she has pneumonia. Please keep Camille in your prayers. Thank you!

NEW DESIGNS HAVE ARRIVED!
Hello Fellow Stitchers,
I hope this newsletter finds you all doing well, in spite of bad weather across the country.
We have just received our second shipment from LUC Creations. The designs are beautiful, and we're waiting impatiently for their new catalog which is on it's way to us.
Do you LOVE Elvis? We have a beautiful design of him on a Needlepoint Canvas from LUC Creations, along with James Dean, Charles Chaplin, a brand new Ballerina design and many more new designs. The five I've just mentioned are already on the website. The many more will be listed as time permits.
As usual, so many more items to still list! And all in stock, and all shipped in one business day to you!
Read some information on a colleague's website regarding not to ever stitch a Penelope canvas using half cross stitch...not durable enough... I have to disagree....sorry....I did my very first needlepoint at 10 years old, using a 10/20 Antique Penelope canvas and stitching using half cross stitch. My mother had it on her wall for years, and now it's on mine. I've stitched more than 300 needlepoint canvases, many Penelope, using half cross stitch and they are all doing just fine. Now if you want to stitch a piano bench, or a pillow I might not recommend half cross stitch, but for a wall hanging, perfectly fine.
Our weather has been a really mixed bag....the birds were chirping this morning. Is that a sign of spring? I sure hope so.
Our dog ran away yet again, (6th time). We had installed an electric fence, she found a way out! There I was my jammys stitching a needlepoint, in my own world, when I decided it was time to bring the dogs in from their nightly outing, only to find her gone. Jim and I looked like two Charlie Chaplin characters, rushing to get normal clothes on to yet again search the wilds for her, only to have a neighbor return her from her "little outing" into the unknown. When all had quieted down, I just had to pick up my stitching to calm myself down, and Tabitha remains in the "doghouse" with me.

can spring really be far behind? Sure hope not!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

We hope you all had a wonderful holiday season, and we wish you all the best for 2011, health, happiness and prosperity!
We are so excited to let you know that the first shipment of new designs from the new company we are dealing with has arrived from France. The designs are beautiful, different, and the quality of Antique and White Penelope is outstanding! We have started listing some of the canvases, and we will be listing their line of Crewel Embroidery kits, Counted Cross Stitch Kits and Stamped Embroidery kits, in addition to their fine line of Needlepoint Canvases. Check back often to see what's available, and take advantage of our continuing 20% discount off of our lowest prices and immediate availability.
Margot and SEG will be coming out with new designs....beautiful! A NOTE ABOUT STITCHING: We kit numerous canvases, Penelope and Mono. It's been so interesting to have a customer call up and say they are out of a particular color, even though the chart stated that the amount would be enough, and it turns out that it isn't.
Penelope, both Antique and White are charted to be done using the half cross stitch method, not the continental or basketweave stitch. That's not to say that you can't use one or the other, but you have to compensate by deciding on a thinner weight wool, or Perle Cotton. Instead of a Perle Cotton #3, you'd use #5. Instead of DMC Tapestry Wool, you'd use Paternayan. When asked, we always include instructions for any of these stitches in the package we mail to you.
On a personal note, our 6th grandchild was born on Dec. 18th, a day before my son's Greg's birthday, so we won't forget that. Vivian Faith weighed 6lbs. 9 ozs., 19 inches long. Beautiful little girl....My daughter Camille finally married her Michael on Dec. 2nd, so we've had cause to celebrate!!
Sadly, Jim has been diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease, a real shock for us., but he is doing well, and an intricate part of the business. Don't be surprised if you call sometime and he answers the phone! He has a beautiful speaking voice, and Greg thinks he should be doing voice overs!
Well, tonight my plan is to start stitching one of LUC's needlepoint canvases, or maybe I'll start a new Margot, or SEG, or Royal Paris.....I know, I know, I'm supposed to be selling all of these, but I can't resist...., just one more for my stash, and yest, when I decide on a
design, Jim makes me pay for it! Have to keep the books straight!
Aftering finally completing our inventory, we have so much in stock, so we'll probably be doing an end of inventory sale to make room for the new...Find those items in the Clearance section as we list them..
Gosh, isn't needlework just the best?

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
Hello Fellow Stitchers,
Those of us living in the Pacific Northwest have been dealing with incredible weather! We've battled a snow storm that dumped more than 13 inches of snow, gale force winds, ice storms, freezing rain and a total lack of that round circular yellow/gold object in the sky called the sun. We had a time of it getting to the shop, getting out orders, answering phone calls, and keeping warm, as we've dealt with temperatures down to almost zero.
Persistence is paying off, and all the bad weather has given us more time to list more items. We are happy to announce the addition of Quilting Kits, lots of different kinds, and we've started listing them on our website as time permits.
We've also listed in the last week more than 80 new needlepoint designs, and we will be dealing with another company in France that manufactures beautiful needlepoint canvas, counted cross stitch, stamped embroidery and crewel embroidery. We are waiting for the arrival of Gobelins, Witches, Wolves, Party Girls, Superman, The Little Mermaid, and dozens and dozens of others at our doorstep. The candy is all ready to dispense and I have my fang teeth and crazy glasses ready to participate in the fun.

END OF SUMMER SALE
Hello Fellow Stitchers,
Well, we're back! The fishing was TERRIBLE! My fishing rod became rusty from lack of use. It rained almost every day. It's just a darn good thing that I had taken needlework with me.....lots of needlework!
My husband finished two books. It was great getting away for a while though.
We're back and we've listed many new designs, but in all honesty, we still have more than 100 new designs to put on the website, and that's Needlepoint designs only. As I wrote in my last newsletter, we will be offering knitting yarns and kits. We will customize kits for items giving color choices. The first kit will be a sock making kit. So much fun, especially using the new method of knitting two socks at once using two circular needles, rather than knitting one stock at a time using five double pointed needles. Have any of you tried knitting socks using two circular needles?
On a personal note, Olivia Savannah was born to Michael and Anika on June 15, 2010 and is doing very well. She is soooooo pretty!
I hope the summer heat is not wearing you down in your part of the world, After a very slow start towards summer, when as late as last week it was still only about 70 degrees, we are having a heat wave of temperature readings of 106 degrees. Yike! I know, I know before long we'll be talking about the early fall weather and wind chill factors.
